Novoslim is a straightforward looking supplement that contains just one ingredient, a fibre derived from a natural root called Konjac.

Konjac root contains Glucomannan a natural fibrous gel useful for weight loss. When ingested it forms into a gel like substance in the stomach that makes you feel full and less likely to snack or feel hungry. As well as helping you feel full, there is evidence that glucomannan helps regulate blood sugar levels so that you do not get those low sugar spikes that cause you to crave chocolate or snacks. In addition it can help prevent against that hollow empty feeling in your stomach and those issues with stomach acid that can be caused by an empty stomach.

There has been a lot of investigation into Konjac root and glucomannan and it is one of the few weight loss ingredients to be approved by the European Food Standards Agency. If taken long term in the correct amounts, it can lead to weight loss.

In addition, it is a fairly side effect free method of weight loss. Novoslim does not contain any added stimulants or ingredients that interfere or react with the chemicals of the brain.

Novoslim is manufactured by Luneda Biomedical, a US based company founded in 2006. Luneda specialise in anti aging products and research into supplements that affect the mitochondrial (cell structure) and hypothalamic functions, as these two structures are thought to be the two main players in age-related health decline. The hypothalamus is the part of the brain that controls body temperature, hunger, thirst and many other important functions. That said, Novoslim does not work like this because the sole ingredient Glucomannan has a predominantly mechanical function. The gel fills you up so you feel less hungry. It is as easy as that!

We covered another Luneda Biomedical supplement called Amberen in a previous review. Amberen is aimed at helping women through the menopause and while we thought it had some good points, weight loss was not one of them.
